A distinguished group of A-Listers gathered here on Friday to discuss recent events in the Universe of Culture and to marvel at what now hangs on every wall. I think it’s fair to say that enthusiasm spread steadily, and that comments and questions were uniformly shrewd and friendly. I’m delighted to say that The Three Marias ( see attached, if that’s the term ) drew much interest as it did on the previous Friday, and I’m hoping that interest will bear the comforting fruit I crave.

The A-Listers, by the way, included a novelist and TV presenter, a film director whose credits include helping Pearce Brosnan destroy St Petersburg with a tank, a radio broadcaster with a love of science and music of every genre, and an ex-MD of a major record label, public figures everyone, all united by a love of art.
