HORACE SILVER

I was beginning to take Horace for granted…..I had “ Finger Poppin’ “ when I was at school (and used to annoy fans of Elvis’ “G.I.Blues “ with it…long story…) then years later, when the Jazzfolio website appeared, I was asked by a guy in Japan ( !! ) to do him a drawing Of Horace. Which I duly did and liked it….Japan was Happy and I went back to “Cape Verdean Blues“ with great (but brief) stuff from Joe Henderson and Woody Shaw, and the mighty Roger Humphries on drums to whom Bryan Spring must surely have listened. “Grease Piece“ from “The Jody Grind“ is indeed jet- propelled . Hold on to your hats !!!!
